Resumen

KCBS New Radio reported on the journey of Amy Kahn 19. For years Kahn has suffered from spasmodic dysphonia—a neurological disorder that affected the voice muscles in her larynx. However, as a result of a vocal science course the recent graduate took at SMC, Kahn now has a clearer sounding voice. The radio story includes observations from Music Professor Julie Ford, who discusses how the new course, which is geared toward helping singers to use their voices to anatomically emulate different musical styles, helped Kahn, not to sing, but to speak more clearly.
