Abstract
KCBS News spoke with Saint Mary’s Politics Professor Steve Woolpert about the Friday announcement by the U.S. Supreme Court that it will review the challenge to President Trump’s latest travel ban. Woolpert, whose academic research includes the impact of the high court’s decisions on social and governmental policies across the nation, said while the ban has been rejected by lower courts, Trump may receive a more favorable decision from the Supreme Court. Last month, it signaled a possible preference, r uling the ban could go into effect as it is while legal challenges continued in the lower courts. The Supreme Court is expected to make a final ruling on the ban in June.
