Abstract

There is an ongoing and raging debate in society, particularly in the field of science, regarding the nature of consciousness and the impact of
Artificial Intelligence on it. Spirituality as a domain of study has dealt with consciousness as a core concept. This paper contributes to the debate
on the role of Artificial Intelligence and consciousness by providing a review of the prevalent scientific views and adds spiritual perspectives
from a variety of faith traditions. The spiritual perspectives are based on the academic and personal experiential knowledge of the authors,
all of whom are professors with a long-standing interest in Management, Spirituality and Religion. This paper is an informed and shared inquiry
into the matters of Spirituality and specifically focuses on consciousness and how it might relate to Artificial Generative Intelligence (AGI).
