SMC Politics Professor Steve Woolpert spoke with KCBS News about the confirmation of federal Judge Brett Kavanaugh as an associate justice on the U.S. Supreme Court. Woolpert, whose academic research includes civil rights and the impact of Supreme Court decisions on American society, discussed the politically divisive nature of the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings, which began as partisan divisions over judicial ideology and ended with investigations into allegations of past sexual misconduct by Kavanaugh.
