About

I've developed and taught a range of courses in American literature, Irish literature, as well as Great Books seminars, creative writing workshops, and craft seminars in fiction and nonfiction. I've directed or served as second reader for over thirty MFA theses in fiction and nonfiction, some of which have been published in whole or part. In addition to my scholarly work in American and Irish Studies, I have published three YA novels and several personal essays.
