Prof. Field - Rothschild has been teaching English composition for twelve years at St. Mary's College and prior, at Holy Names University and Contra Costa College. Her specializations are Information Literacy, knowledge transfer, first-year composition (FYC), and young adult and dystopian literature.

Prof. Field was formerly a reporter for various media outlets, has worked for the LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired, and has been involved with Disability Studies research. As a writer, she has written stories for young adults and children. 

Prof. Field is currently researching knowldge transfer from FYC to WID, Information Literacy, and protest platforms.
