Dr. Judith M. Hermis holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado, Boulder (2017) and a B.Sc. with Distinguished Honors from the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce (2009). Her research explores the role of accounting information at the intersection of the public and private sectors, with a particular focus on defense-related organizations. Dr. Hermis' research has appeared in Contemporary Accounting Research, The Journal of Public Procurement, and The Journal of Government Financial Management. Before joining academia, Dr. Hermis worked for Ernst & Young, LLP in McLean, Virginia, where she specialized in the defense industry. Dr. Hermis holds an active Certified Public Accountant license (Virginia). In her free time, she enjoys traveling, weightlifting, and the performing arts.
